WHAT STARTED AS A SEARCH FOR SOMETHING BETTER
BECAME YEARS OF LEARNING, FORMULATING, AND GETTING IT EXACTLY RIGHT.
We are from Kerala. And in Kerala, Ayurveda is not a trend, it's something you grow up inside.
So when Ruby, our dog - a rescue, an indie - started struggling with her skin, we began asking a different question. If Kerala Ayurveda has thousands of years of documented, tested, practitioner-backed solutions for the humanbody - why had none of that wisdom found its way, authentically, into what we give our animals?
THE LINEAGE
Our search led to a very interesting finding -
Ayurveda was never only for humans.
Classical Ayurveda always had three branches - one for human health, one devoted entirely to animals, Mrigayurveda and one for plants, Vrikshayurveda .
In Kerala, this tradition was lived and practised, particularly through the Gajavaidyars, dedicated practitioners who treated temple elephants using medicated oils, herbal decoctions, and botanical formulations passed down through generations.
Kukkuru is rooted in this lineage.
We set out on a journey that brought us together with a team of highly qualified Ayurvedic physicians, with a working knowledge of Mrigayurveda and veterinarians who knew what a dog’s biology demanded.
We came up with a set of carefully crafted proprietary formulations - put them through rigorous laboratory tests , analysis and studies. All the products were tried by dogs who needed it most -
and the results spoke for themselves.

Dogs carry up to 300 million olfactory receptors, compared to roughly 5 million in humans, giving them a sense of smell up to 100,000 times more powerful than ours. Added fragrances can overwhelm a dog’s hyper-sensitive nose and irritate their skin.
Which is why
none of our products contain any added fragrance. As a rule.
CRAFTED FOR DOGS
Above all, we made sure that this was a product crafted,
specifically for dogs — built around their needs, not ours.
A dog’s skin has a natural pH of 7.0, noticeably more alkaline than human skin at 5.5. Our shampoos are formulated to match a dog’s pH exactly, keeping their skin barrier intact rather than disrupting it.
